PENDING SALE--This is a great example of the Ruger RSM Magnum safari rifles, chambered in 458 Lott. These rifles were discontinued by Ruger due to the cost of manufacturing them, and their prices have increased significantly since then. They provide more safari-related features than any other big-bore rifle anywhere near their price point.
The RSM rifles are stocked in Circassian walnut in classic African style. The barrel and quarter rib are actually machined out of the same piece of steel; no screws or soldering to come loose. The action is a controlled round feed style, with a heavy full-length extractor bar. Cut checkering, floorplate loading, barrel band sling swivel mount, and ebony forend cap add some classic touches.
Some shops are charging $2,000-$2,300 for used RSM rifles. This one is like new, with 8 rounds through it, and priced for a quick sale.
