Description:
A Westley Richards 318 Accelerated Express bolt action rifle on a Mauser FN action, made in 1954 by Westley. 24" barrel with an island express sight with 1 standing and 2 folding sights. Birmingham proofed at 52gr cordite and 250gr bullet max.Sling eye on the barrel, Westley patent front ramp with fold up night sight and spring actuated fold over sight protector. Barrel lug with forend tie down. Quick detachable lever mounts on dovetail bases with a solid shoulder stop, 2 1/2 x Nickel scope. Hinged floorplate with an outside lever release. The floorplate and trigger guard with 75% broad scroll engraving, the receiver with 60% coverage including the sight protector, the express sight base and the top of scope bases. All matching serial numbers including the stock. 7lb 11oz without the scope and 8lb,7oz with. Sporter stock with monte carlo comb. Wrap around point pattern checkering, horn forend tip, horn grip cap, 14' LOP over 1" silvers pad. 95% original blue, original stock finish remains at 90%. The bore is excellent plus. The piece is cased in a Westley Richards light duty canvass and brass case.
