This Montana Rifle Co. Stainless M1999 in 6.5 Creedmoor with 24" threaded barrel remains in Excellent Condition. The Bore is excellent. There are only a few very light handling marks present on the rifle as a whole, it appears to have been used very little. The model 1999 combines the best design features of the Winchester 70 and the Mauser 98, the Controlled round feed of both, the elegant stock footprint of the model 70, and 3 position safety of the 70. The designers went with the stronger breech of the model 98 mauser where the feed ramp is part of the receiver ( called the C ring) and more of the cartridge head is surrounded by receiver, the model 70 utilizes a coned breech which is considerbly weaker, much of the base of the cartridge is not supported.
