The FUSION rifle began life as a new Ed Brown-designed Model 704 controlled round feed action that has been honed to perfection by the master gunsmiths at Bansner & Company. This modern action is impeccably mated with a PVA Osprey barrel custom milled into an 1800's-style ½-octagon ½ round with “wedding ring” transition barrel. The barreled action is then superbly joined with a carbon fiber stock that incorporates classic wood stock features like a steel pistol grip cap and inletted sling swivels. By fusing the old with the new, the FUSION will help you harvest your trophy game from the cold snowy mountains to the hot African plains…and look good doing it.

- Chambered in 6.5 PRC
- M704 ACTION:
- Controlled-round feed, two-lug bolt, and a 90-degree bolt lift.
- Precision-machined on state-of-the-art CNC machines from solid bar chrome moly steel then Rockwell hardened to 40C.
- Bolt raceways are multi-step broached giving a superior finish for smoother, more reliable feeding.
- A precision ground and laser cut .250” heavy duty recoil lug is used for maximum strength and reliability. Action face and recoil lug are indexed with a detent pin for absolute alignment.
- Each M-704 action is essentially blue-printed with the front receiver ring squared to the axis of the bolt which enhances consistency and precision accuracy.
- Gas vents on bottom of bolt body and front right side of receiver ring safely protect the shooter in the event of a ruptured case.
- A fixed blade ejector kicks the spent casings wide of the receiver.
- A two-position safety makes it eash to distinquish between “Safe” and “Fire”
- A unique custom machined reverse round follower enhances reliable feeding and eliminates the common “bolt/follower” drag associated with other style followers used by other manufacturers. All cartridges are aligned with the chamber in the same way each time as they rise out of the magazine ensuring uniform chambering which contributes to accuracy.
- M704 BOLT:
- The bolt body is CNC-machined from a solid block of steel.
- The bolt has a large, M-14 style inset extractor hook in the bolt head, a recessed bolt face, a standing blade ejector slot, and an integrated, pivoting extractor for positive controlled feeding and extraction.
- The twin bolt lugs are precisely mated to the lug seats in the action to create even and consistent bolt contact.
- The bolt body features a distinctive spiral fluting which enhances smooth bolt cycling.
- The rear of the bolt encompasses a tactile cocking indicator.
- CUSTOM MILLED BARREL:
- Match-grade PVA Osprey barrel 100% produced on modern CNC equipment from 416RR CReS (Corrosion Resistant Steel) aka Stainless.
- 6 groove barrel with a proprietary cross section profile that shoots long, heavy for caliber, precision rifle bullets extremely well.
- Each barrel is micro-honed to ensure the best bore geometry repeatability that can be provided today; better than pre-lapping. This honing allows the bore sizes and cylindricity to be controlled at the micron level which drives a better process downstream from there.
- Each barrel is double normalized (stress relieved), finish lapped and digitally gauged.
- 24" with 1-8" twist.
- Custom milled into a 1800's-design, ½ octagon, ½ round barrel with a “wedding ring” transition between the two.
- Removeable Bansner & Co-designed 3 row muzzle brake, threaded 1/2x28. Comes with smooth thread cap.
- Engraved with “Special Edition” on an octagon barrel flat and “6.5 PRC" on the opposite octagon barrel flat.

KEY FACTS ABOUT THE ED BROWN MODEL 704 ACTION:
The M704 rifle action is a state of the art, modern-day true controlled round feed system.
The action was designed to close the bolt with a round in the chamber requiring minimal effort. A heavy-duty spring loaded pivoting extractor and mechanical ejector ensure positive feed and extraction even under the most severe conditions.
With the CRF feature, cartridges from the magazine box slide under the extractor, holding the round from the beginning of the feed cycle and controlling its complete path all the way into the breech and eventual extraction and ejection upon firing. As the cartridge is pushed forward, up and out of the magazine, the case rim slides into the slotted bolt-face rim and is held firmly as it chambers. Most significantly, unlike a traditional Mauser claw, when the M704 bolt is closed, the bolt face rotates around the cartridge and supports it underneath. A large claw shaped extractor is actually part of the bolt face rim.
By eliminating the long rotating claw extractor common on conventional controlled round feed actions, the M704 action has fewer contacting parts which results in dramatically smoother bolt cycling. In combination with the precision designed follower, this system creates a modern, state of the art truly controlled round feed of the cartridges. This is absolutely the most desirable and time proven feeding system available today and is a must for any serious game hunting!
