1907 Vintage Marlin Model 1894 Rifle in .32-20 Winchester Caliber
** Very Nice 100% Original & Honest Gun **
Description: This is a very nice all-original Marlin Model 1894 chambered in .32-20 Winchester that was manufactured circa 1907. It is completely unmolested and honest with all-original finishes and no "improvements" or modifications. The Marlin 1894 was one of the firm's most successful models and remained in production from it's introduction in 1894 until 1934, a run of 40 years. The lever-action repeater Marlin '94 was offered in 4 different calibers and featured a case colored receiver, a factory blue finish on the barrel and magazine tube, a 24" inch octagon or round barrel, a under-barrel 10-shot tubular magazine, factory iron sights, and a pistol-grip or straight-grip American Walnut stock set. This 1907 production example has the octagon barrel and straight-grip stock. As you can see from the pictures, it still has good deal of the original factory blue finish and case colors intact. All of the metal shows a consistent degree of finish wear and age that is very attractive. The bore in this Marlin is superb, bright and clean with no pitting or erosion visible. The rifling still shows sharp lands and grooves throughout the barrel. The factory stock set is in very good condition, free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or major damage. The wood shows minor handling and storage marks but no major dings or damage. All of the original stock hardware is intact and in good condition. The action on this Marlin '94 is smooth, slick, and precise. It is obvious that this rifle has not been fired very much since leaving the factory in 1907. The lever and bolt locks into battery perfectly with no slop or wiggle, and the hammer still has both the half-cock(safety position) and full-cock positions intact. This Marlin is 100% functional and should shoot just as accurately and reliably today as it did when it left the factory 113 years ago! If you have been looking for a classic American lever action rifle for your collection this Marlin Model 1894 would be a superb choice. This Marlin is certainly nice enough to be a great long-term investment but not so perfect that you would feel guilty shooting it.
