2001 Marlin Model 1895M Lever Action Carbine in .450 Marlin w/ Factory Ported 18.5" Inch Barrel
** Beautiful JM Marlin .450! **
Description: This is a beautiful and exceptionally clean factory-ported Marlin Model 1895M carbine in .450 Marlin caliber. This Marlin 1895M was made in 2001 and is very nicely made, well before Marlin was bought out by Remington. The Marlin Model 1895M carbine in .450 Marlin was first introduced in 2000, and was the first Marlin rifle or carbine chambered in the .450 Marlin cartridge which was introduced in 2000 as well. The 1895M in .450 Marlin remained in production for ten years until 2010 when it was discontinued. The .450 Marlin cartridge gave non-handloaders a powerful .45 caliber option far superior to the factory .45-70 loads commerically available. The handy and powerful Marlin 1895M was perfect for those wanting a lever action repeater capable of taking any big game in North America, or for bear protection, in an easy to carry and lightweight package. This model features a factory-ported 18.5" inch barrel, a 4-shot magazine tube, a straight-grip factory checkered Walnut stock set, a ventilated factory recoil pad, a folding buckhorn rear sight, and a crossbolt hammer block safety. This particular gun appears to have spent it's entire life in storage, and is probably unfired since leaving the factory in 2001. The gloss blue factory finish is absolutely beautiful, rating 98% plus. The bore is mirror bright and perfect, with no visible imperfections, pitting, or erosion. The Ballard-style rifling shows "like new" sharp lands and grooves. The factory checkered Walnut stock set is in excellent condition. Both the forearm and buttstock are free from any cracks, repairs, or major damage, showing only some tiny handling/storage marks under close inspection. The checkered panels on the forearm and wrist are crisp and clean. The factory installed Marlin-branded recoil pad is perfectly fit to the butt and tight to the wood. The factory sling swivel studs and Marlin black and white bullseye are in perfect shape. All of the controls on this rifle are in perfect working order. The action works smoothly and goes into battery perfectly, and the trigger is quite good, breaking with a light pull with no slop or grit. This Model 1895M comes with a Weaver optics base already installed on it, as well as a removable factory hammer extension. If you have been looking for a high power lever action carbine for big game or bear country this .450 Marlin 1895M carbine would be the perfect choice. As mentioned earlier, this model is no longer made and should be an excellent long-term investment as well.
