MARLIN ~ 1893 ~ .30-30 CAL
Description: The research we did indicates a YOM ca 1899 on this rifle. Being a Marlin the caliber is listed as ".30-30" and not ".30-30 Win." It can only be conjectured that Marlin didn't want their chief competitor's name anywhere on their product. It features a 26-inch octagonal barrel, curved steel butt plate, and a full-length magazine. The research shows up to 10 rounds capacity. It is unclear if that is in the mag (a really tight fit) or 9 + 1. Overall condition is pretty good, especially considering its age. It probably has had some work done over the years. The wood stands flush with the metal and may have shrunk to that level. The receiver has some parallel scratches on the left side. .30-30 Winchester Chambers: 10 rounds Metal Condition: Good. The barrel retains much of the blue with wear along the sharp edges and around the muzzle. The magazine tube and receiver are mostly a patina with some residual finish in the protected areas. Wood Condition: Good. There are a number of handling marks with most of them being shallow. There is a small chip near the rear sight dovetail on the left side. Bore Condition: Shiny for the most part but is a bit dark and a little rough. The rifling is good. Barrels: "26 inches, octagonal Triggers: Factory trigger Stock Dimensions: LOP: 13 inches Fore End: Smooth walnut. Butt Pad: Curved steel plate. Weight: 7 lb - 15 oz Sights: Gold bead and semi-buckhorn notch iron sights Item Location: Rogers Price: $1,399.99 Contact Seller |
