SAVAGE ~ 99 ~ .300 SAVAGE
Description: This is really a nice Model 99, manufactured in 1953, and quite well-maintained since. The oil finish appears a little in need of refreshing, but the round counter works. The checkering is quite sharp. The Model 99 was developed to take advantage of the high performance cartridges being developed at the time. They have a rather unique rotary magazine, and a European influence slim splinter fore end with Schnabel. .300 Savage Chambers: 4 rounds Metal Condition: "Good. Much of the blue remains, and the round counter works. There is some light pitting on the barrel, and more on the lever. Wood Condition: "Very good. The finish appears a bit worn, but a light coat of oil would cure that. The checkering is quite sharp. Bore Condition: Shiny and bright with good rifling. Barrels: 24 inches Triggers: Factory trigger. Stock Dimensions: LOP: 13-1/8 inches. Fore End: Well-matched slim walnut with Schnabel. Butt Pad: Steel plate. Weight: 7 lb - 9 oz Sights: Bead and semi-buckhorn open sights. Drilled and tapped for rear peep sight. Item Location: Rogers Price: $1,299.99 Contact Seller |
