Description:
This high-condition Savage 99 EG was made in 1953.  The serial # is 6584xx.  It is in overall very good to excellent condition.  The wood is very good to excellent with one tiny nick and a small split in the tip of the forend.  The split has been professionally repaired and is very hard to notice.  I have provided pics of the split and the one dent.  the split is hard to see due to its small size and excellent repair.  The metal is in very good to excellent condition with slight thinning around and on the receiver, typical for the way lever actions were carried in the woods.  There is thinning on the lever from use.  The grip cap has a rare smooth face with a ridge and has two screws.  I am aware of only two or three others like this.  Most have a checkered single screw in the cap.   The rifle has been drilled for a scope and the hole has plug screws in them.  It is 300 Savage caliber.  Offers or trades accepted.
