Savage Model 99 1899 Lightweight Take Down Rifle
Description: Made in 1925 and in refreshingly nice original condition. 300 Savage caliber, 24" barrel with excellent, crisp bore, rifling and chamber. Rear barrel sight is a Marbles unit, probably added after-factory. Matching #'s as far as we can see. Buttstock stil has factory varnish, is solid, crack-free, and intact behind the tang, where these tend to be a problem. 13" pull over factory steel butt plate. Note: looks like a sling swivel stud hole was plugged in the stock belly. Metal finish thinning, but no rust patches, just honest wear. Case colors still very evident on lever. Has dried-up oil and grease inside, and could use a good cleaning and lube. Full-thread take down barrel is tight to the action. Fore-end wood has hairline crack RH side, should be visible in the last pic; nobody has attempted a repair...should glue-up just fine. Ser# 2749xx. CA OK, C&R OK. Call or email for more info.
