Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are so proud to offer this fine example of Marlin's mid range lever gun, the 1894. This one is decked out in deluxe trim, with nicely figured checkered walnut with a pistol grip, takedown feature, and a 2 inch longer than standard 26 inch barrel. The icing on the cake is that she is chambered in the dainty 25-20, one of my favorite cartridges. This is a late 1800's gun, made in the year of our Lord 1899.  She is in good condition for being  125 years old. The original blue is fairly strong, turned to patina, thinning on edges and muzzle,  on a muted case colored receiver. The wood is also very good, with worn checkering and light handling marks with a good fit. The bore of the 26 inch barrel is quite bright, with strong rifling. The stampings are clear and sharp, telling me that this rifle received good care. The action is tight and smooth, and the half cock safety works as designed. The takedown feature allows you to take it apart in about 15 seconds, and she locks up tight just as fast. Very importantly, the special order features are verified by the fine folks at the Cody Museum. These fancy grade Marlins are a rare find. When you consider that the total number of traditional Marlin lever guns was only about 375,000, you can see why. That included every model from the 1881 to the 1895. In comparison, the Winchester 1894, alone, sold more than 6 million copies.
