WINCHESTER 1873 (ANTIQUE) .32-20 WIN
Description:
Guns Listing ID: 954822
Own a piece of western history with this Winchester Model 1873 chambered in .32 WCF (.32-20). According to Winchester‚‚s serial number records, this rifle was manufactured in 1895, which classifies it as an antique. It features a 24\" octagon barrel, walnut stocks, full length magazine tube, semi-buckhorn rear sight and Marble #8 front sight. Barrel is marked with \"Winchester‚‚s Repeating Arms, New Haven, CONN, USA\", second line \"King‚‚s Improvement Patented March 29 1866, October 16, 1860.
It is missing the dust cover, left side forend screw and sight elevator but otherwise appears to be mechanically functional. Serial #483503B. Unfortunately, the history of this rifle is unknown and it appears that the wood may have been refinished at some point in time. Wood condition is 5-6 out of 10 with some gaps and a couple of small chips on the forend. Steel is 5-6 /10 with some scattered pitting and moderate wear. The extent of the original finish is unknown as there is some evidence of surface rust removal. The magazine tube has a slight bend in it. Dark, heavily frosted bore with moderate pitting throughout and worn rifling. Despite the condition, it is a historical piece that would make a nice addition to anyone‚‚s collection. Priced according to condition.
*Note* Due to the nature of antiques, the rifle‚‚s condition and lack of available ammo, this rifle was not test fired. It is sold \"as-is\" without warranty. Although it appears to be functional from a mechanical standpoint, it is a collector piece and not intended to be fired without having a certified gunsmith inspection and any necessary repairs done. The rifle is sold, as found, to preserve its condition, but replacement parts are available if one wanted to have a complete
