"Rare English Breech Loading Rifle by Collis of Oxford. (Marked on lock) mechanism is similar to the Ferguson system but does not load from the top. Trigger guard unscrews completely to reveal the loading chamber which may be loaded with a ball and then with a powder load or possibly a ball with powder load as a single unit? Barrel length is 36" and overall length is 52". Barrel retains 90% plus finish. The stock was lengthened long ago (LOP is 14½") and does not detract from the appearance of the rifle. Forend wood has an old repairs on the right side of the forend. Gun overall is in good plus condition. Metal parts rate very good. Rare Flintlock Breech Loader (DALLAS LOCATION)
