Rare/ Scarce Sako VL 63 Finnwolf 243 Winchester 100% original Rifle. I purchased the rifle when an older collector made a  decision to sell off some of his collection. This rifle has been setting idle in a safe well carred for and well maintained most of its life.
From Sako Customer Service in Finland research I found out the Sako Finnwolf rifle was made in 1974 Serial # 9717 and shipped out from the factory on 1/21/1975. I also found out that the most common Sako Finnwolf rifle was produced in 308 caliber and the Finnwolf 243 caliber was produced in less quantities. Sako Customer Service only said they were very few of of the 243 calier produced but couldn't provide the exact number that were made.They did say Sako discontinued making the Sako VL 63 rifles in 1975 due the high cost to manurfacture the Sako Finnwolf due to it's quality made it difficult to compete in the USA market with winchester model 88 lever action rifle and Savage Model 99 lever action rifle who reduced the quality in their lever actions which made it impossible to compete with their price in the USA. 
This Sako VL 63 "Finnwolf" is in exceptional conddition throughout,you will search a long time to find one in better condition.
Both metal and wood rate 98% + with a great bore.Chambered in the desireable and hard to find 243 winchester, this is a must have for any Sako Collector. There is an original Sako Finnwolf box with the rifle, however the serial numbers on the box does not match the rifle.
