Heinrich Scherping 9.3x72R double rifle
Description:
Heinrich Scherping hammer double rifle in 9.3x72R with showing 1891 era proofing. The bores are both VG if not better showing light wear and slight greying to them. The action locks up perfectly tight on face, with zero perceivable play, the same with the forend. The triggers work perfectly, and everything is very tight and smooth on this gun, which is unusual for the age. The rear sight toggles between two positions and there is a flip up front bead for low light. There is also a flip up rear aperture. The wood exhibits excellent figure with some minor compressions here and there, with one larger one as shown on the buttstock. Unusual short cartridge trap for only two cartridges instead of the typical four. There are traces of case remaining on the receiver and the bluing is nice with some fading around the natural balance point of the gun. I am not positive of which exact iteration of 9.3x72 cartridge this gun is, so a cast will be required. The LOP is 14" to the front trigger.
