We on special occasion get in a rifle or shotgun that has seen little use and is in high condition. This is an excellent example although we can see it was used in its early life having taken a very respectful grizzly. See the photo of the first owner with the rifle and the very scary massive bear!
Americans may not be familiar with the Heeren action, having only caught on in Europe the last 100 years. They are still building single shot rifles on this action today in Europe. The trigger may look odd but believe me it is very effective incorporating a ergonomic set trigger in its design. Solid wisdom tells us "Don\'t judge a book by its cover", a "person by their appearance", or in this case a "trigger by its looks." There is a lot to respect here.
Having near 100% original case hardening with near full coverage rose and scroll engraving this little stalking rifle is a master piece of gun making and a prime example of what Johann Springer of Vienna could accomplish. I particularly love the full length stock with the elegant horn schnabel. *** Note: To see this gun with high resolution photos and a zoom-in feature, go to the vintagedoubles main site and search for the gun ID: 3582 or browse the main site to see our full gun collection.
