Mauser 8x57 Model M Engraved

Mauser 8x57 JS Type M.

Based on a standard length, round top aciton w/ military style floorplate, two triggers, original "wing" safety, and flat bolt knob checkered on both sides.

Looks to be the original German WWII MSW 4x81 rifle scope with original claw mount with "sight tunnels". 

Action and floorplate are engraved. 

Original barrel is 20" outside the front ring w/ a banded island rear sight w/ 1-folding/1-standing sight leaves with "V" shaped notch sight leaves and a file-cut ramp sight, original removable sight hood, and dovetailed sight blade with a  round brass bead. band for stock mounted forward sling swivel. Barrel is marked 8x60 NORM. 

Original full stock in the stutzen style has a standard cheekpiece, steel muzzle cap, and panel checkering on the grip and forearm. 14 1/2" LOP over a Pachmayr "white line" recoil pad, hard rubber grip cap, and a sling swivel along the toe line. 

Rifle weighs 8 lbs 3 oz and retains about 80% finish on the metal and has a very good bore. Stock retains about 70% to 8)% original finish. 

Overall very nice for a late war production rifle.
