Description:
This is a 1938 proofed Franz Kettner Double Rifle in 8x60R in decent condition, the action locks up tight, triggers work perfectly etc. I believe the front trigger is single set but I will verify later today. The bores are in good condition, fairly bright but showing some rounding to the lands and a little roughness in the groves. The stock appears to be duffle cut, like it was a GI bring back potentially, and repaired professionally long ago. The side panels also show old cracks and repairs, it is solid though and I've had no problems shooting it, it could stand to be restocked or simply use it as is. Off a completely cold bore it shoots vintage RWS loads to barely over barrel spread apart at 50 yards, and of course opens up a bit if shot hot. The extractor shows an old repair, either that or someone fit a different extractor to it, I'm unsure of this, as it's exactly the way I bought it, it does work perfectly as is though. This is a great example for the field to save your nicer doubles, and could always be improved later. I upgraded to a different 8x60, so I would be interested in selling or trades for other German guns, or prewar American custom rifles.
