Magnificent Stiegele Martini Schuetzen Rifle in 8.15x46R
Description: MAGNIFICENT STIEGELE MARTINI SCHUETZEN Rifle
Caliber is 8.15x46R. The barrel is 29-1/4″ long and fluted with a design that is a round barrel with external ribs. “Carl Stiegele Jun Munchen” is inlaid in gold on the breech end of the barrel. The barrel has been relined as is so common with barrels that have been updated to a new smaller caliber. This was commonly done as totally replacing a barrel was a very expensive proposition. Stiegele’s name is surrounded by scrolls inlaid in gold. Stamped on the right side of the barrel is the letter “V” which indicates the rifle was made before the proof laws of 1891. The rear sight post is calibrated for distance. Both the buttstock and forearm are extensively carved in flowers, vines and leaves by a craftsman of great skill. This rifle can be seen in Classic German Target Arms pages 52-54 and was previously part of the very famus Allen Hallock Schuetzen Collection. The barrel blue shows very little wear with exellent bore. The action shows considerable case color and wood is excellent condition with very minor handling marks. All FFL rules apply
