Mosin Nagant M91/30, 7.62 x 54R Bolt-Action Rifle, Manufactured in 1939
Description: This Russian Mosin Nagant M91/30, 7.62 x 54R bolt-action rifle was manufactured at the Tula Arsenal in Tula, Russia in 1939. Its overall length is 48.5 inches and weighs in at 8 pounds, 8 ounces (without the scope). It has a flat rear sight and a global front sight, and is equipped with an after-market AIM 2x7 scope mounted on a Picatinny rail. The markings on the barrel and receiver include the Tzarist eagle, several acceptance proof marks (?K and ?), and the “SA” inside a rectangle indicating Finland army property. See high-resolution markings photo. All markings include: - Soviet Union Star with Arrow stamp on the barrel - Date of manufacture, 1939, stamped below the Soviet Star - Serial number, AE7821, stamped below the date of manufacture - Serial number, 7821, stamped on the magazine floor plate, the bolt, and the butt plate - PM stamped on the barrel below the serial number - Russian proof commission acceptance mark stamped on the barrel - Importer stamp on the front, left side of the receiver – “M91/59 RUSSIA 7.62X54R” (first line), “C.A.I. GEORGIA VT” (second line), and 9130411790 (third line). The M91/59 in the first line is hard to read, but I think that it what it says, though it could be M91/38. Either way, it is incorrect, as the rifle is an M91/30. There are a few scattered markings on the wood and metal that are hard to make out and for which I cannot find references. The overall condition of the gun is about 90-95 percent. It is fully operational. It does have a few scrapes and dents but now a lot for an 86-year-old gun. None are large and/or deep. The metal components are all in good shape and working order. The barrel is clean and shiny, and the rifling is strong. There is no rust on the gun. The photos are high resolution, so zoom to see details. Contact me for additional photos of any areas you would like to see or see better.
