Italian GRAZIAN VERONA Youth Training Rifle with FOLDING SPIKE BAYONET C&R
Smaller Version of the Model 1891 CARCANO CARBINE!
Description: Italian GRAZIAN VERONA Youth Training Rifle with FOLDING SPIKE BAYONET C&R Smaller Version of the Model 1891 CARCANO CARBINE! Here we present a desirable World War II C&R Italian Youth Fascist Grazian Verona Training Balilla Carbine manufactured circa 1940 in Verona, Italy. There were only about 57,000 of these produced under Mussolini by this company. This Balilla Carbine is indistinguishable from a full-size Model 1891 Calvary Carbine and was made of the finest materials which make it the most sought after of these unusually small carbines. The receiver is marked with the crest of the GIL (Gioventù Italianna del Littorio), which stands for Italian Youth of the Lictor, which was the Fascist Youth organization for youths from 8 to 12 years old. This organization was akin to the Hitler Youth Program. The program designed for the earlier age group used this same rifle, only it fired 6mm blanks. It was still equipped with a folding spike bayonet and were issued to boys in the organization “Figli della Lupa” (Children of the She Wolf) ages 6-8. The theory was for there to be different different rifles for the different youth organizations, starting with the non-bullet firing ones. Then the next training rifle, and so on, until they were ready for a full-size gun when they joined the army, because it is truly a miniaturized Carcano. This way the child would familiarize themselves with the rifle from the age of 6 all the way to 18. These are very difficult to find, making this highly collectable. The overall condition is good. The action functions. Dark bore. The stock is solid. Fully function bayonet! Here is a rare find that will surely be a conversation piece! This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 14-1/2 inches. Caliber: 6.5mm Italian Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1265 #210924 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
