John Rigby 350 Magnum Mauser Sporting Rifle

Up for sale is my John Rigby 350 Rigby Magnum rifle made in 1926. Built on a Mauser 98 action, double square bridge, barrel length is 24" with the very rare bayonet style front sight. Ivory bead with standard 2+ leaves 100, 200 and 400 yds (if you are shooing this out to 400 yards with iron sights you are a champ!). Bore is in very good or better condition. Stock LOP is 14 9/16" to original metal buttplate.
The gun appears original in every way with the exception of a small, flat wooden piece added to the comb (see detailed picture). A very well known gunsmith in the Northeast had a look and wasn't quite sure the reasoning for this addition. I originally had hoped to scope the gun but rather than modify a 100 year old collector rifle, I've decided to sell to get something more appropriate.
