London: A 470 Nitro Express Rigby Sidelock Ejector Made in 1998 with Back Action Locks, 23 1/2" Ejector Shoe Lump barrels with a 1/4 rib, 1 standing & 2 folding rear sights with Gold inlayed yardage, Bushed strikers, Double triggers, Carved fences on the standing breech, Proved at 3120 BAR in London in 1998, Lever release on a splinter forend, Pistol grip stock with a shadow line cheekpiece, Trapdoor grip cap, No sling eyes, 14 5/8” L.O.P. over a 7/8" pad, A very proper weight of 10 lbs. 10 oz., Excellent walnut with dark and deep black/brown contrast, 90% coverage of floral engraving with 3 African game animals on the lockplates and the bottom of the action all done by B. (Byron) Burgess and so signed; John Rigby & Co. inlayed in Gold on both locks and on the left barrel, .470 in Gold on the 1/4 rib, It totally appears the gun has not visited the African Bush, The original barrel blue remains at 99%, The receiver finish remains at 99%, The stock finish is at 98% plus, The checkering at 100%, The bores are new. It is cased in the strong Americase with blue velvet lining and white embroidered Rigby logo.
