Rigby Highland stalker built in the tradition of the small-caliber sporters built by J. Rigby & Co on Mauser Original 98 actions. With these rifles, Rigby literally cast the mold of the modern bolt action hunting rifle. This is simply the latest iteration of that proven formula, using current production Mauser Original 98 actions proofed and stocked in London. The trigger is a modern style steel unit exhibiting a very crisp pull averaging 3.5 lbs. The safety is a modern Winchester 70-style 3-position for perfect scope clearance. The 22" cold hammer forged barrel bears island mounted express sights, one standing leaf and two folding leaves at rear with beaded blade at front protected by a traditional hood. Front sling mount is island-mounted to the barrel with enlarged eyelet to accommodate a traditional and very functional Rigby-branded leather sling with thong ends. Rear sling attachment is mounted to toe line with matching enlarged eyelet. Magazine floorplate opens with a traditional trigger guard-mounted Oberndorf release. Trigger guard bears serial number per tradition. The stock is closely modeled after original prewar Rigby sporters, and is a faithful rendition thereof. The recoil pad is traditionally red with Silvers-style rubber constructiones complete with full length Rigby-branded soft sleeve inside factory hard case.
