Rigby limited edition .416 Rigby Magnum. During the early days of Covid when the world had the vapors, Rigby management decided that the best way to keep the company going was for skilled craftsmen to live at the factory full time and do what they did best. You know - keep a stiff upper lip and all that. One of the projects this huddling created was an edition of 10 rifles bearing the most British slogan “Keep Calm And Carry On”. As a much-deserved recognition, the initials of the contributing individuals would also appear on the rib. This particular rifle is the number two of that edition. Serial 10799 has a 24-inch barrel (sleeved front sight assembly with integral hooded ramp and brass-beaded blade, banded sling loop, quarter rib with fixed express and folders marked 150/250). Features include a rust blue finish with niter blue accents (extractor, follower, bolt release spring, action screws), single square bridge magnum action, three position roll-over (traditional) safety and a drop box magazine. STOCK: The AA-grade walnut is properly profiled for a dangerous game caliber. Accents include wrap checkering, crossbolt, scalloped pancake with shadow line, trapdoor grip cap, toe line sling loop and a leather-wrapped recoil pad. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 10.4 pounds and the length-of-pull is 14.4 inches. CONDITION: The bore is superlative. Metal finish is at least 99 percent. Wood is approximately 98 percent, the majority of this adjustment owning to minor finish spotting along the left side of the toe line. CAPACITY: Four rounds feeding from the magazine. The extractor does not “snap over” rounds dropped into the chamber. Feeding/extraction/ejection are smooth and dependable. ACCURACY: The included test target shows a three-shot group of 1.325 inches (iron sights, 65 yards, 400-grain Hornady).
