Offered for sale is a J.C. Higgins Model 43 bolt-action rifle chambered in .22 Short, .22 Long, and .22 Long Rifle. Manufactured for Sears by Marlin, the Model 43 is a classic American tube-fed rimfire that has earned a reputation for dependable performance and excellent accuracy. It is mechanically similar to the Marlin Model 81 with a few Sears-specific features.

This rifle is in good overall vintage condition. The hardwood stock shows honest handling wear with scattered scratches, dings, and finish wear consistent with decades of use, but no obvious cracks or repairs are visible. The blued metal retains a pleasing appearance with normal finish thinning, light freckling, and age-related wear throughout. The rifle is fitted with its factory adjustable rear sight and front blade sight and also includes a vintage externally-adjusted scope mounted in steel rings.
