The Winchester Model 55 is a single shot semi-automatic. The .22 rifle was designed around the popularity of the semi automatics with the parents who wanted the single shot for the perceived safety in mind. The Model 55 shoots .22 S/L/LR and features an iron sight on the front of the barrel. The Model 55 loads from the top, requiring you to pull the charging handle back, initiating the safety, sliding the charging handle forward, at which point you can load a single round into the top gate. If you forget the safety, the model 55 will engage it as soon as you push down on the gate to load a round requiring you to still kick it off in order to fire your round.

This Model 55 features swivel mounts.
