Ruger factory mahogany cased First year Super Blackhawk 44 Magnum unfired in the original case
Description:
This is a very rare unfired mahogany cased first year Ruger Super Blackhawk in the original wood case. Ruger didn't go crazy but they did manufacture a few of these fine guns and hand fitted them in a solid Mahogany wooden case with red felt inserts. --see the pictures--yes an obviouis collectors piece.
the reason that I know that it is unfired is because I bought it new back in late fifties. Don't say it guys ! Obviously it has been well cared for --- see the pictures --
Back in the day no one did a better job of high polish bluing than Ruger. These early guns are a perfect example, In addition to the high polish bluing check out the high polish "plum" colored frame, this was quite by accident on some of the early guns, the early Weatherby's had a similar situation on the early German guns and I might add were and are well sought after.
If you zoom in guys you will see that the cylinder has not been turned. the grips back then were nicely fitted walnut with the original "black Ruger Eagle"
