Master Engraved and Gold Inlaid Kazakhstan Themed Ruger/Spink No. 1 Single Shot Rifle with Zeiss Scope and Case
Description: Engraved and Gold Inlaid Kazakhstan Themed Ruger/Spink No. 1 Single Shot Rifle with Zeiss Scope and Case in 7mm REM MAG
Description
Built on a Ruger No. 1 action this outstanding rifle features a blued barrel with a block mounted beaded blade fore sight and dovetailed notch rear sight on the raised quarter rib which holds a Zeiss Diavari V 3-9x42mm T* scope. The top of the barrel is marked "SPINK LONDON", import mark under the forend, and the barrel is marked with London nitro proof marks dating to 1987. The rifle is fitted to the No. 1 falling block action which displays beautifully executed flowing scroll engraving surrounding a pair of semi-relief gold inlaid game scenes before continuing onto the lever and the upper tang. The game scenes consist of a snow leopard facing the observer on the left side and a bust of an ibex on the right side, both cut in fine detail. The engraving shows no visible signature but it is clear that it was cut by the hand of a master. The rifle is fitted with a beautifully figured and multi-point checkered forend with ebony tip, front sling stud, teardrop carved panels at the rear, and a hinged engraved cover plate for the forend bolt. The stock is of the same lovely quality with teardrop carved flats, engraved and gold inlaid grip cap with a motif of "The Golden Man", rear sling swivel, leather covered recoil pad, and a blued trapdoor cartridge compartment engraved with scrollwork surrounding a gold inlaid motif of the emblem from the flag of Kazakhstan. Included is a full length oak and leather case with canvas cover.
Condition
Exceptionally fine, retaining 99% original blue, casehardened, and gold finishes with minor handling evidence and sharp checkering on the wood. Mechanically excellent. The case is very fine. Scope optics are sharp, reticle is crisp.
