Description:
The improved second generation of the classic Ruger Model 77 rifle, the M77R Mark II is the basic model of the second iteration of the M77. The Mark II rifles took the reliable Model 77 and redesigned the bolt slightly by changing the ejector and improving the long claw extractor for its controlled-feed design. This design leads to a smoother action of the bolt and better reliability in feeding. The Mark II also moved the safety from the tang to the rear of the bolt and added a 3-position lever, much like the Winchester Model 70. Lastly, the Mark II changed the magazine floorplate release to the external of the trigger guard at the front, rather than protruding inside the trigger guard. This improvement made the rifle easier and more comfortable to shoot with gloves and different shooters' hand shapes/sizes. This M77R Mark II is chambered in .300 Winchester Short Magnum (.300 WSM) and dated to 2005. The rifle has a blued barrel and receiver and checkered walnut stock with oiled finish and capped with a rubber buttpad. The bluing is in fantastic condition and there is no rust or corrosion on the surfaces or inside the barrel. The stock has some minor usage marks, but no cracks or significant damage. The rifle is outfitted with a Vortex Venom 4-16x44mm second focal plane scope mounted in Leupold rings. This rifle does not include a box or case. .300 WSM
