Shorter barrels make them excellent in any situation where maneuverability is important. Integral scope mounts are machined directly to the receiver to provide a stable mounting surface. Side ejection clears the top-mounted scope. Recoil buffer protects the scope from damage or shifting as the semiautomatic action cycles. Integral sling swivel studs. The Mini-14 boasts the simple, rugged Garand-style action with breech-bolt locking system, fixed-piston gas system and self-cleaning moving gas cylinder for unparalleled reliability under harsh operating conditions. Patented integral scope mounts machined directly on the solid-steel receiver provide a stable mounting surface for scope rings, eliminating the potential for a loss of accuracy in the field.
