1976 Vintage Ruger No.1 Rifle in .25-06 Remington Caliber w/ Custom Stock
** Ruger Bicentennial No.1 Rifle **
Description: This is a very nice vintage Ruger No.1 rifle in .25-06 Remington caliber with a period custom stock set. This Ruger No.1 was manufactured in 1976, and as-such has the Bicentennial stamp on the barrel of "Made in the 200th Year of American Liberty". This single-shot lever-action rifle features a gloss blue factory finish, a 24" inch barrel that is drilled and tapped for both target scope bases and standard bases, a tang-mounted safety, a factory adjustable target-style trigger, and a custom American Walnut stock set with a Monte-Carlo style pistol-grip buttstock and a flared flat-bottom forearm. This Ruger No.1 has been well cared for over the years, showing only very minor finish wear / handling marks in the beautiful gloss-blue factory finish. The bore in the 24" inch barrel is mirror-bright and clean, showing no visible imperfections and sharp rifling throughout. The custom stock set is very attractive and very comfortable to shoulder, and is in excellent condition overall. The wood shows only some very minor handling/storage marks in the wood and is free from any cracks, chips, or repairs. The pistol-grip buttstock features an ebony pistol grip cap and raised cheekpiece to aid in sighting the rifle with optics. The longer flared forearm has a flatter bottom edge than the factory forearm to aid in from firing from a supported/rested position. The action on this Ruger No.1 is slick and precise, and locks in and out of battery perfectly with a tight lever. The mechanics of this rifle feel like-new, and it is obvious that this rifle has been fired very little during it's life. We have no doubt that this Ruger No.1 will fire as accurately and reliably today as the day it originally left the factory over 44 years ago. The .25-06 Remington chambering of this No.1 is a great cartridge for North America. It is a flat-shooting and accurate cartridge, capable of taking anything in North America. If you have been looking for a cool new vintage rifle to add to your collection this 1976-production custom Ruger No.1 would be an excellent choice. Not only is it a very attractive rifle but it should be a superb shooter and great long-term investment as well.
