This is a 1975-made, tang safety-equipped rifle that retains practically all of the original blue finish on the metal, with some very mild marks on the bolt body, which has a thin layer of protective grease. The straight-grained, checkered walnut stock has virtually no wear or handling marks, and is outfitted with a red Ruger recoil pad. The rifle is housed in the original, numbered Ruger cardboard shipping box with original scope rings and manual, and is also accompanied by a 2022-dated Ruger factory letter that lists a shipping date of October, 1975 to Sloan’s Sporting Goods Co. of Ridgefield, CT. This is a virtually new-in-box Model 77, chambered in a potent and desirable dangerous game cartridge. The former collector covered the gun in grease to protect it. Most of it was cleaned but some residue remains. FFL
