Description:
Ruger 77/22 M77 Bolt Action Rifle - .22 LR - Excellent Condition - Stainless/Synthetic - w/ Burris Scope
Ruger 77/22 – Discontinued Rimfire Menace – Stainless/Synthetic – Bolt Action .22 LR
For sale is a
Ruger 77/22 M77 bolt-action rifle, chambered in
.22 Long Rifle. This rifle is in
excellent condition and features a
stainless steel barrel with a
black synthetic stock – a discontinued configuration that Ruger no longer offers. Serial Number:
703-71172. Total weight as configured is
6 lbs 11 oz. This is a well-built, all-weather varmint hunting machine – not glamorous, but a real working rimfire.
One of the nice features of the Ruger M77 rimfire rifles is that they felt and held like a centerfire rifle – a substantial, adult-sized bolt action in .22 LR. This rifle uses Ruger's standard
10/22 rimfire magazines and is compatible with a wide variety of 10/22 magazines. It retains its
original iron sights (currently unusable due to the scope being mounted) and features a
three-position wing safety. A
Burris Droptine Rimfire 3-9x40 scope is mounted on the receiver.
Note on Discontinuation: While the M77/22 line continues in .22 Hornet, Ruger
discontinued making them in .22 LR. Additionally, they have
no current offerings of this model in a Stainless/Synthetic configuration. This is an increasingly collectible and desirable rimfire rifle.

Why Discontinued? – The 77/22 .22 LR Story
While the M77/22 line continues in .22 Hornet, Ruger discontinued making them in .22 LR. Additionally, they have no current offerings of this model in a Stainless/Synthetic configuration. The 77/22 .22 LR was not cost-effective for Ruger to continue producing, as it competed with the their highly popular 10/22 semi-auto. But for those who prefer a bolt-action rimfire that feels like a real rifle, the 77/22 is a gem. This stainless/synthetic version is particularly desirable for all-weather use.
