Classic Vintage 1967 Ruger 44 Carbine in .44 Magnum Caliber
Description: Classic Vintage 1967 Ruger 44 Carbine in .44 Magnum Caliber Offered here for sale is a classic from the home of the Ruger Collectors Association right here in Southport, CT is this early powerful Ruger 44 carbine. The Ruger Model 44 carbine is a semi?automatic carbine chambered in .44 Magnum, produced from 1961 to 1985. The standard barrel length is 18.25?inches, with an overall length of 36.75?inches. The rifle features a solid-topped receiver, walnut stock, 4?round tubular magazine, bead front sight, and folding leaf rear sight. Scope-ready, receiver was drilled and tapped for mounts. Based on Ruger’s official serial number charts this rifle’s serial 115,760 indicates it was manufactured in 1967. The Ruger Model 44 was eventually discontinued in 1985, and the primary reason was high production costs. Ruger ceased production despite the rifle’s popularity because it was too expensive to manufacture compared to other models and designs. Therefore specimens in any condition are coveted by shooting enthusiasts and collectors alike-especially Ruger collectors. Ruger enthusiasts point out that the Model 44’s receiver was forged (not investment cast, unlike most Rugers), making it unique—and perhaps more costly to manufacture.
