Description:
The Ruger Carbine was released to the public in 1961 and this one traces to production late '61 or early '62. The first batch of these was labeled "DEERSTALKER," and later renamed simply Carbine by leaving "DEERSTALKER" off the mark. This was over a Copyright infringement, that Ruger lost. The rifles themselves were designed to take advantage of the American familiarity with the M1 Carbine. The rifle is short, light, and nimble for use in the heavy cover that deer frequent, and, where action can be sudden and fleeting. .44 Magnum
