Breathtaking Custom Gold Inlaid Sako Riihimaki .222 Remington
Description: Will Consider Trades Such As Cooper (17 Mach 2?), Krico, Walther, Kimber or Other Small Bore Rifles. Not many chances in a person's lifetime come along to own a custom rifle like this one. I can't imagine what it would cost to have this rifle built today. I bet the stock alone would be over $2,000. How many years would you have to wait for a top custom engraver to take your rifle to this level of engraving and gold inlay work? Whoever did the work is a world class master. All of the bottom metal is covered. Note the machine work to modify the standard dovetails in order to make more surface area for gold inlay work. The rings and magazine work alone would have to cost $1,000.00 to do. As far as I know the barrel is factory Sako. No marking visible do to all of the engraving and inlay work. Bore is pristine. I've never shot the gun but ever vintage Sako I own, and have owned - (a bunch over the years) - have all shot under an inch. I'll turn 72 this year and have been thinning things out so my wife won't have so much to deal with if I croak before her. This is the last custom Sako in my collection. Feel free to ask questions. I can email pictures to you so you can use a photo editing program to check them in detail. If you ever wanted to own a true museum piece I think this is your chance.
