1937 Date WORLD WAR II German Proof J.P. SAUER & SON “s/147” Code K98 Rifle Germany Third Reich MAUSER PATTERN Rifle
Description: 1937 Date WORLD WAR II German Proof J.P. SAUER & SON “s/147” Code K98 Rifle Germany Third Reich MAUSER PATTERN Rifle Here we present a C&R Third Reich German J. P. Sauer & Son “s/147” Code K98 Mauser Rifle manufactured in 1937. In 1898 the German Army purchased a Mauser design, the Model 98, which incorporated improvements introduced in earlier models. The weapon was originally chambered for the Patrone 88 and officially entered German service as the Gew. 98 on April 5, 1898. This remains by far the most successful of the Mauser designs, helped by the onset of two world wars that demanded vast numbers of rifles. Manufactured prior to the start of World War II, this Mauser K98 bears the "s/147" code on the receiver ring and the date “1937”, along with inspection marks, including “Eagle/359” and “Eagle/214” markings. The overall condition is good. Refinished. The action is excellent. The bore is in good condition with strong rifling. The stock is smooth and solid. Numbers match on the barrel, receiver, and bolt, but differ on the barrel bands and magazine. This one has an import mark on the barrel. These earlier K98s, especially from Sauer, were superior in fit and finish from the factory than the later pieces made as the war went on and are more difficult to find! This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 24 inches. Caliber: 8mm Mauser Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $2000 #230814 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
