1941 WORLD WAR II German J.P. SAUER & SON “ce/41” Code/Date Model K98 Rifle Third Reich Germany Infantry Rifle!
Description: 1941 WORLD WAR II German J.P. SAUER & SON “ce/41” Code/Date Model K98 Rifle Third Reich Germany Infantry Rifle! Here we present a German J. P. Sauer & Son “ce” Code “41” Date K98 Mauser Rifle manufactured in 1941. In 1898 the German Army purchased a Mauser design, the Model 98, which incorporated improvements introduced in earlier models. The weapon was originally chambered for the Patrone 88 and officially entered German service as the Gew. 98 on April 5, 1898. This remains by far the most successful of the Mauser designs, helped by the onset of two world wars that demanded vast numbers of rifles. It was in 1941 that the Sauer production code changed from “147” to a script “ce”. Cupped butt plates were introduced to help prevent the de-lamination of rifle buttstocks. Sauer began to use “bys” and “dfb” barrels and magazine followers which have a waffenamt “214”. Waffenamt numbers “37” and “359” continued to be used on most parts. All metal parts continued to be milled and numbered to match the rifle. Manufactured relatively early in World War II, this Mauser K98 bears the “ce” code with the “41” date on the receiver ring, along with the “eagle/37” inspection marks. The barrel is fitted with the standard blade and tangent sights, and matching numbers are present on multiple components. The overall condition is very good. The action is excellent. The bore is in very good shape with sharp rifling. Only the barrel and receiver’s numbers match one another. “Eagle/37” WaffenAmts on the barrel and receiver. This example sports a solid laminate stock. A wonderful piece of German history for the collection! This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 23-3/4 inches. Caliber: 7.92x57mm (8mm Mauser) Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1725 #201139 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
