Description:
This is one of my favourite hunting rifles. Please note this is the Elegance version of the Sauer 202 and is very nice. This is NOT the takedown version. I used to hunt elk with it, but then I changed the scope to hunt moose in Canada with my son.
This rifle has a gorgeous 2-piece grade 6 walnut hogback stock, Bavarian cheek piece, pistol grip and Schnabel fore end. The pistol grip and Schnabel fore end have rosewood caps. The barrel is 24" long with a 1:12 twist rate and ported by Mag-na-port. Rifle SN: 405624,
The scope is a steel Schmidt u. Bender 2.5-10x56 with a rail, 30mm tube and a #11 reticule. Scope SN: 12523
The scope mounts are Ernst Appel Wurzburg (EAW) pivot mounts, and yes, the scope returns to zero every time it is removed for travel!
Includes the soft carrying case, original bikini scope cover and Galco braided leather sling.
As with all my bolt guns, I endeavour to reload to get <1MOA groupings. My proven loads:
Speer 270gr BTSP, COAL 3.600", IMR 4895, 69gr, .75 MOA - for practice.
Barnes 270gr TSX, COAL 3.540", IMR 4895, 69gr, .75 MOA - for hunting.
As you can see, it is very accurate. I have put around 250 rounds through this rifle since owning it. I bought it used around 2010 and have lovingly taken care of it. The kick is very manageable. There is a slight ding on the left side of the fore stock; otherwise, slight handling marks on the rifle and scope. This mounting is the second time the scope rail has been drilled as I bought the scope used in Germany after I had purchased the rifle.
I am ex military and break in / clean barrels of all my guns for accuracy as marksmanship is a passion for me.
PLEASE NOTE: I prefer we talk on the phone about the rifle, scope and mounts before you commit to buying it. Maybe we could video conference over Zoom or WhatsApp to answer any questions and show a live video relative to your questions. I'd like to ensure you are aware of what you are buying before you buy it to avoid a return please.
Please see my other bolt and lever guns as I get them listed.
