The 63rd Infantry Division was created in 1943 and landed in southern France in December 1944, some six months after the massive Allied invasion of western Europe on D-Day (June 6). The "Blood and Fire" division advanced northward and eventually crossed the Saar River into Germany in early February 1945. He was a true Patriot, dedicated and had soon became a full-fledged man and it forever shaped his young life. He made it back to his home turf and his brother gave him #343209 Sauer Drilling that he liberated from Germany. The gun was to go with the battle ribbons he received for his heroics. He put it up and never once fired the gun. If only guns could talk!
