Description: Another “ESTATE” firearm listing brought to you from Dust 2 Dollars who prides themselves on showing the complete gun in high quality pictures along with a detailed description for your consideration. We offer you an “Early Production” Savage Model 1899-H Featherweight Takedown Rifle with a 20” barrel chambered in 30-30 Winchester. The serial number on the rifle is 118,594 which makes the year of production right at 1911. This makes our all matching numbers rifle 110 years old. As you can see the rifle was restored at some point and has a bright bluing on the metal. That finish is in fine condition with some areas of discoloration and freckling. The lever was not refinished and shows light case colors. Both stocks have no cracks, chips or repairs. The butt stock, butt plate, forearm and receiver all have the matching serial numbers. The 20 inch barrel has a very fine bore that is bright with no pitting. The left side of the barrel is marked “SAVAGE HI-PRESSURE STEEL / < Model 1899 >” and “30-30”. The top of the barrel is marked “MANUFACTURED BY SAVAGE ARMS COMPANY UTICA, N.Y. U.S.A.” / PAT.- FEB. 7 1883. JULY 25 1893. OCT. 3. 1899. MAY .25. 1909. JUNE 1.1909.” The front of the lever boss is marked with an “H” in a triangle. The underside of the receiver is marked “118594”. The front sight is adjustable for elevation and the base is marked “PAT.SEPT.7.00”. $799 This will be shipped fully insured to your FFL UPS Ground for $60 with signature required.
