This beautiful Savage 99 was featured in the article "The Overlooked Savage 99" that appeared in the 2009 "Gun Digest Annual." It features a custom AAA English walnut stock by Dave Pierce, and a trigger job by Savage 99 master gunsmith Doug Wells. The scope is a like-new vintage Kolmorgan Bear Cub 4X: the scope base and rings are Leupold. The lever was color case hardened by Color Case Company, the barrel and receiver were carefully hand-polished and slow rust blued by Dave Pierce.
