Guns International #: 100402360
Seller's Inventory #: 1332
The .358 was added in 1956 at about 900000 serial number and the damascened finish bolt in 1957 so this gun dates to either 1957 or 1958. It features the standard 24" barrel with ramp front sight. This model has the distinctive round with groove forearm. Still features the old world walnut stock with hand checkering. Barrel retains all of the original factory blue finish. Receiver retains all the finish on as well with maybe a hint of high edge thinning but still blue. Lever has all the brilliant case colors. Wood is wonderful with some evidence of wear and gun sports a solid red recoil pad. Mirror bore and tight as new action. Receiver is factory drilled and tapped for Weaver scope mounts after 1950 as well as two mounts for a tang sight. No cracks of any kind in stock and wrist is perfect. Very tough to find in this caliber. Semi buckhorn rear and gold bead front per book. Wonderful Savage 99 big bore in Winchester chambering.
