Savage 1899 Deluxe takedown Factory engraved 250-3000 Manufactured 1916

Rare and collectable Savage 1899 manufactured in 1916.  This is a deluxe takedown model with factory "D" engraving that covers nearly the entire left and right sides of receiver extending into the take down collar.  Metal is in excellent condition for a firearm that is 110 years old.  Wood has factory "B" checkering with a few minor handeling amrks, the largest of which is pictured.  Steel butt plate that fits perfectly but is silver around teh borders and it is unclear if this was factory installed.  Lever retains maybe 50-60% case coloring.  Chambered in 250-3000 savage.  You likely will not see another of these come up for sale.  The most recent I could find was a Rock Island in 2021 which was exactly the same other than it was engraved to a WW1 commander and that sold for just over $21,000.  Consignmetn sale.
