Savage 99 F .308 Beauty, Hard To Find Featherweight in .308
Description: Among the nicest looking of the many 99's by its unique stock design with a more full forend than E's and others. This is from a time when these incorporated both the best features of the older guns (steel butt plate, Handsome American Walnut stock set, the old style brass cartridge counter with cocking indicator and the improved location of safety from where it had previously been located on the lever to a tang mounted one. This DOES NOT HAVE. the crack behind the tang that is so common, bore is excellent, stock retains most of the original finish with no meanigful use marks and very good remaining blue at 85% or so with NO RUST OR PITTING. Checkering is sharp and lever retains some of the case colors.
