From my personal collection, this is a particularly special rifle. I wanted an example of the 1895 in excellent shape, to display alongside my minty model 99's. This is the result! Flat flats (you know what I mean) and crisp edges on the barrel, lettering recut by the engraver, metal work and rust blue, blacking and niter blue farmed out to the well-paid professionals, and Turnbull case colors. New stock and fore-end took FOREVER to get completed. Factory lettered Jan 2018, made Jan 1897, shipped to Jos. A. Marks Co. in Detroit in Sept 1898. Internal mechanicals are in as nice shape as the present exterior of this rifle. 26" Bore is dark from black powder, but has a good chamber, and I wouldn't hesitate to shoot it, alot! Barrel "JM" marked under the wood. Serial #3895 is pretty cool also. Call or email with any questions.
