Somewhat rare is this Savage 340 V (Varmint) chambered in 225 Winchester. This hot little cal is sometimes compared to the 22-250 and 224 Weatherby. These were known to be inexpensive but with excellent accuracy; most were chambered in 222, 22 Hornet and 30 30 Win. ...a relative few were produced in 225 Winchester. The case was originally based on the 218 Zipper. For handloaders it may be formed from 30 30 brass. Cal was lst introduced in 1964.
The metal (blue) is all orignal and in not far from new condition. The stock has some huntiing marks, had a little finish added and what appears to have been a smal repair at the heel (not noticible at a glance.)
Magazine is missing, The scope has no value and does not function but is in the proper mase and rings which were designed for these rifles
