The Savage Arms Model 10 FCM Scout is one of the more well-known factory-made scout rifles chambered in .308 Winchester, designed with Jeff Cooper’s scout rifle concept in mind. The Bolt-action, built on Savage’s Model 10 short action, with a 20-inch free-floated barrel (button-rifled). The barrel length strikes a balance between velocity and compactness, which is essential to the scout rifle idea. Chambered in 308 Winchester, the standard chambering Cooper recommended for general-purpose use—effective for hunting medium game, defense, and field utility. Comes with a forward-mounted scope base (for long eye relief optics) and iron sights as backup, in line with the scout rifle concept. Included is Leupold FX II Scout Scope. Equipped with the Savage AccuTrigger, adjustable for pull weight and known for being crisp and user-friendly.
