Though typically known for use in hunting applications, the entry-level Savage Axis II rifle is now available in a Precision-oriented configuration! The Savage Axis II Precision takes the popular Axis action with the upgraded adjustable Savage Accutrigger and sets the action in an aluminum Modular Driven Technologies (MDT) chassis, exclusive for this particular rifle. The stock has a sharp and sporty olive drab green and black two-tone finish and features a rubberized pistol grip (interchangeable with any AR-15 pistol grip) and stock with removable shims, rubber buttpad, and adjustable comb cheekpiece. The stock features M-lok attachment points for adding accessories and includes one picatinny section on the underside of the forend and also a 20 MOA-height picatinny scope mount on the receiver. This rifle is chambered for .30-06 Springfield, so it could be equally appropriate for long-range target shooting or hunting large game. However, its 10+ pound weight may not be ideal for tracking game! The barrel measures 22" and is threaded for attaching muzzle brakes or suppressors. The barrel's heavy profile helps to keep groups tight even with longer strings of fire and can resist heating from the sun for a longer period of time. This rifle is practically in new condition, including one 5-round steel MDT AICS-pattern magazine but no box or case. .30-06 Springfield
